Since last Wednesday I have driven from Westpoint, Tennessee to the far southeast corner of Georgia (Jekyll Island) and back, and today up to Dixon, Tennessee. In all that time Susan & I have not found a single restaurant with decent service or food worth half the price, but today Tennessee came to the rescue.

Driving through Centerville we spotted Papa KayJoe's Barbecue. We no more than got into the door than the alert, intelligent man behind the counter asked if he could help. He was friendly and courteous ("It's Wednesday, and we've got one dollar specials.") and the food was scrumptious. We topped it off with homemade (not machine made) coconut crème pie. It is to die for. Y'all have no idea what you missed. And he wrote the whole order up on a pad in his hand, completely without computer aid. That's probably why he got the food to us so fast -- he didn't have to wait on the computer.
