Take This Free Online Personality Test
Aug. 28, 2010
I told this to my subscrobers a week ago. So many of them reported benefits that I thought I had better post it as a Tip of the Week.
I took this online test:
The results were amazingly accurate. It identified my personality type. There were 16 possibilities.
Then I checked what this meant on another site. The analysis was accurate.
I don't think that personality is destiny, but it shapes us. When you fight the basics of your personality in your job, you are hindering your success. If your personality type rebels against what you do for a living, you will not have the enthusiasm required for mastery.
I think people should try to find their strengths and work on them. The best way to work on them is in your work and also your calling. You can move from mastery to virtuosity, if you are sufficiently gifted.
The Web has lots of pages on the Jung-Myers-Briggs test. There are many ways to interpret it. But it's not tea-leaf reading. My assessment was too accurate.
I suggest that you take the test. Then spend a couple of hours searching the Web for sites that will help you apply the results to your career.
If your personality is at cross-purposes with your job, consider finding a new job. Don't fight the tape!
Here is a comment from a site member:
I've always considered personality tests a waste of time. Most of them, in my experience, we're a bit like looking at your horoscopes in the paper -- it could always be true because they are so vague."But, I read your article this morning and reluctantly took the test. Wow. The results were uncanny. This is something every high school student (probably earlier) should do.
It's no wonder I'm so frustrated with my current job. It basically goes against everything in my personality type.
Sorry Dr. North -- no question -- I just wanted to post this to thank you for the links and verify that I -- like you -- was nodding my head along in agreement when reading my description. Uncanny.
If any members read this, please the test; it is well worth your time.
Why not give it a shot?
