CrashPlan: "Nobody Here!" The Techies Are Not Set Up for Interaction. Neither Are the Salesmen.

CrashPlan backs up your data. It automatically saves any changes you make in your files. These are uploaded to their servers. It is a good program.

The trouble is, they do not understand marketing. It is a technology-driven company, which means they do not know how to deal with customers.

I have been on a trial subscription. My son set this up at Christmas.

I keep getting warned that I am to subscribe. That is what I want to do.

So, how do I do this? I go to the home page and am told about product options. I check them out. I see what I need: the $24.99 per year plan.

I clicked Buy Now. This took me here:

It says $2.50, not $24.99. There is no explanation.

So, I contacted customer support. I got a response. To access it, I must be a member. I couuld not figure out how to access it. I have no password. There was no email back to me.

I sent these images here: information@code42.com, asking for clarification. There has been no response in three days.

The company is not set up to answer questions. Are they throwing away money by not having an order blank for $24.99? Of course. Do they care? Not enough to fix it.

Are they set up to respond to obvious marketing problems? No. They are interested in digits, not sales. In short, this is a standard high-tech online firm.
