There is a little-known site that tracks home asking prices in over 50 cities. You can see what asking prices have been over several years, in three price ranges.
The advantage of the site is that you can see the trend. Asking prices are higher than selling prices, but the trend is what is important.
You can see which cities did not get hit badly by the boom and bust, cities such as Nashville. Others did, such as Las Vegas.
