It looked real. I clicked. I got this (fortunately).
There is a rule that can protect you. The rule is: do not give out personal information online. Call the institution that supposedly sent the request. Get the phone number from its site. Get confirmation of the request. Have someone take you through the procedures verbally on the institution's site.
