Here is a tip of the week from Bill Myers, who wrote the code for my Specific Answers site.

If you use any version of Windows, you'll eventually need a way to remove viruses from your computer.

No matter how careful you are, one of these days a virus or malware program will sneak onto your computer.

And when it does, you'll need a way to quickly find and remove it.

While there are plenty of virus removal programs, one of the best is the free Windows® Malicious Software Removal Tool from Microsoft.

This tool has one purpose, to scan your computer and remove any virus or malware program it finds.

You may not need this program today, but when you do need it, you'll want to know where to find it.

For any 32bit version of Windows, including Windows XP, use the version found at

http://bit.ly/MSFTmal16

For Windows 7 64 bit, use the version at

http://bit.ly/MSFTmal64

Even if you don't think you have a virus or malware on your computer, running the Malicious Software Removal Tool can't hurt.

It's free and it works.

By the way, this tool is not intended to protect your computer from viruses. Just to find and remove them if they are there.

For virus protection on a Windows computer, I recommend and use the free Microsoft Security Essentials --- found at
