Some of you might want to check out the following: http://www.dentistsofalgodones.com/

This is a referral service for dentists in Los Algodones, Mexico, which is a border town very close to Yuma, Arizona. I first heard of it about 4 years ago and went down there and had a bunch of stuff done (extractions, crowns, 2 root canals) which cost me around $2500, and I am sure it would have cost at least $10,000 here (which I did not have). The dentist I went to was Dr. Juan Bernal (www.dentalbernal.com). I have been back twice since, and am going to be going back again for implants and more crowns, as soon as I get the money. He does very good work. One thing that impressed me was that they get crowns back from their lab in 2 days, vs. about 2 weeks from every dentist I have ever been to in the U.S.

Anyone who is facing a large amount of expensive dental work should investigate this. If you can go down there and spend a few days there, you can save a ton of money. You can fly into Yuma or Phoenix. It is about a 3 hour drive from Phoenix. Note that you will need a passport, as they have a regular border-crossing station there. It is right on the border. There is a big parking lot on the U.S. side and you can walk there in 10 minutes.

One day when I was coming back, I asked the customs guy how many people went over there, and he said about 10,000-15,000 a day. They get people who come there on a regular basis from all over the U.S. and Canada.
