Use Free Screencasts for Site Problem-Solving

I recently had a problem with my site.

I was writing my daily quota of five TPE articles. It was early in the morning: maybe 3:30. I start writing for TPE around 3 a.m.

There was a glitch. I could not add letters to the article's title.

I wanted my site's administrator to understand exactly what the problem was. He would not come to work for five hours.

Weeks ago, I had gone to this site:

I had downloaded free SOM software to record screencasts. I could also have recorded it from that site. I find having the software on my desktop is more convenient.

I used it to record the following video.

I used my Sennheiser PC-131 mic/headphones ($35) for sound.

Second, I posted it on my YouTube channel.

Third, I used Bit.ly to create a customized link title.

Fourth, I sent my administrator the link.

When he came in, he could see exactly what the problem was.

Narrate it as you go through the motions with your mouse. The viewer will know exactly what the problem looks like.
