Ever since 1984, Prof. Lawrence Kotlikoff has been studying the Ponzi scheme economics of the U.S. Government's unfunded liabilities. Here, a New Zealand interviewer gets him to discuss the details of this Ponzi scheme.
As of early 2012, the present value of the government's unfunded liability was $222 trillion.
We do not see anything like this discussion in the American media. Americans do not want to hear bad news. This is bad news for most of them. The U.S. government will default.
